Production of electricity
The company, with registered head office located in Santander, Spain, is engaged in the provision of electric power services. It performs a range of services such as operating generation facilities that produce electric energy; operating transmission systems that convey the electricity from the generation facility to the distribution system; and operating distribution systems that convey electric power received from the generation facility or the transmission system to the final consumer. The company has a farm with 3,000 MW of installed capacity at plants located in the communities of Andalucia, Aragon, Asturia, Cantabria, Castilla la Mancha, Castile and Leon and Catalonia. It is recognized as the world's largest investor-owned energy service provider, distributing approximately 5.7 TWh to more than 640,000 customers located in the north of Spain. In addition, the company handles the company offers commercial marketing, providing electric supply contracts throughout the entire peninsular territory. The company is a Spanish-based, privately held entity which was founded in December of 1998.
